The IEA has lost itself completely in the transition narrative. Irina Slav has been pillorying them on a regular basis for years now on her Substack.
I guess they miss the point that when a large number of people are “energy workers” it means that society is very unproductive. There are probably some Adam Smith or William Jevons style lessons in there somewhere if one cares to look…
The tone and the framing of thoughts in your article resonate with my thinking, thanks.
One further thought on Mr Trump. While signing the EO to cancel EV mandates he said, "You're going to be allowed to drive the car of your choice." ... A bolt of lighting delivered to the soul of every bureaucrat.
I have often wondered how wood pellets were considered green as well, but I know that was part of the calculation in the UK for clean energy. it appears that Mr Trump is going to destroy the entire climate edifice, and it cannot come quickly enough. congrats on the NYPost article
Worse than you think. Biofuel pellets do have emissions counted, but they are not credited where they are burnt, but where they are harvested, Eastern Europe, Romanian, etc.
Devils advocate moment, just one. Traditional manure makes terrible fertilizer. It's full of noxious weed seeds, and while it decomposess it actually robs nitrogen from the soil. That's why you will see abandoned manual spreaders abandoned in the weeds on many farms. In the 1990s I worked on a California dairy that had a digester for their manuar. They ran a small ICE generator off of the methane the digester produced and sold the power. The byproduct of the digester was already mostly decomposed, the seeds had germinated and died, it was ready to use in your field.
Um yeah…so about all that indoor air pollution in 3rd world countries…don’t even worry about it, like, it just fixed itself. It’s all based on sciency spreadshits, and CO2 is just sooo bad, it should be Orange right?

just more proof it is all a grift
Hillsdale lecturer did an excellent job a few weeks back explaining how electric car owners are mere virtue signalers.

Congrats! But man, that NYPost website is hard as hell to actually read…
